On July 2, 2020, WBG received news that it had been selected to be added to the list of the American Camellia Trail Gardens, a project of the American Camellia Society. American Camellia Trail gardens are public gardens containing notable collections of camellias. WBG joins the Leu Gardens in Orlando and the Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales as the only other gardens on the trail in Florida. Our gardens currently have 409 camellias on site, with 271 different cultivars. Early-season varieties will begin blooming in October.
Visit our webpage Camellias on University of Florida Campus for a list of identified camellias at Wilmot Botanical Gardens and eight other sites on the UF campus.
